Welcome to the ATBA-UK Newsletter.
Downhill Championship
After our very successful visit to clear the track for the Downhill Championship, your Riders Reps made a little video to entice you to come along. Not only is it a great track that really shows what British Downhill has to offer, but the campsite is amazing too with a swimming pool, skatepark, BMX track, adventure playground, resturant and bar. It's definitely one you won't want to miss.
And if you like that, you'll love Dave McBean's video of the 2005 ATBA Downhill Comp at Dunkeld. If you weren't there, or were there but can't remember anything, you can read what Remolition thought about it on the Remolition Extra blog.
Battle of Bugs is back
And this year it's on the 14th and 15th of August. Remembering back to last year's Battle of Bugs and some of the tricks that were pulled, we're sure this is going to be the freestyle event of the year and not to be missed!
WhiteAir Cancelled
WhiteAir, the Extreme Sports Festival which was scheduled for 17th, 18th and 19th of September in Brighton has been cancelled due to lack of investment. Hopefully there'll be back bigger and better in 2011.
Mountainboarding on the BBC
ThrillSeeker is a new BBC campaign on Countryfile, and will help thousands of individuals and families across the UK experience an adventure activity, such as mountainboarding. It has a particular focus on people trying such activities for the first time so if you know someone who wants to try mountainboarding, get them to check out the ThrillSeeker website.
Mountainboarding in The Guardian and The Observer
Mountainboarding is going to be featured in the a '1001 things to do in the UK' article in both The Guardian and The Observer at the end of March. Have a guess at what number Mountainboarding will be, and then have a look to see how close you were.

Hands up who wants one
The TK Pro, Tom Kirkman's signature board, is this season's must have board and was unvelled at the SIA Show in America. We're waiting to see who's going to be the first person to turn up to a competition with one, and if it'll make them ride like Tom.

The future's bright
Ironsides Court Farm Mountainboard Centre has a new website to go along with it's new management team. And just to remind you, it's Court Farm's 10th anniversary this year and they're celebrating by having a special opening weekend get-together from Friday 2nd April to Monday 5th April.
Russian Freeriding
Check out The Blog, the latest video showing you all how the Russians roll. They love backcountry riding, and show it so well.
Spanish Sunshine
Whilst the UK experiences some less than enjoyable winter weather, you can cheer yourself up by watching this video and seeing how it would be to cruise down 5km tracks in Spain under blue skies.
We have a winner!
Well done to Elis Sokolowski, our 500th Facebook Member. He wins a Big Air dvd to keep him entertained when he's not practising for the Under 18's.
Get involved
The ATBA-UK uses GoggleDocs to run collaborative online projects to discuss and develop changes and improvements to things like 'Freestyle Judging' and 'How BoarderX races are run'. If you'd like to get involved with these discussions, email us at join@atbauk.org and we'll send you a link to whatever we're discussing.
This months link into the world of mountainboarding is...
The Dirt Box, from Ade McCordick, who has been riding since 2006 and blogging about it since Sept 2008.
Be part of the ATBA-UK, be part of mountainboarding
